Neural web search and page-content retrieval built for AI. The /search and /contents endpoints are x402-gated: call without a key, get a 402 quoting $0.007, pay USDC on Base or Solana and the results come back on the retry. An API key is optional and bypasses x402 entirely if supplied.

| Auth | No account needed on the x402 path. POST https://api.exa.ai/search with no auth header returns 402 with USDC requirements for Base (eip155:8453) and Solana; sign EIP-3009 and retry. Only /search and /contents are x402-gated — every other endpoint still requires an x-api-key. Sending an API key bypasses x402 and bills the normal way. |
